Elmquist Art Available
at Lagerquist Art Gallery, Atlanta, GA
The Lagerquist Art Gallery now has a
selection of new Classical Realism original oil painting by Deborah
Elmquist, classical oil painter and contemporary
realist. The prestigious
Lagerquist Art Gallery is located in the heart of
Buckhead's prestigious West Village shopping
district, within greater Atlanta, Georgia.
Evelyn Lagerquist and Kay Lagerquist Bragg have
operated the Lagerquist Gallery in its' present
location for the past 30 years. Established in
1970, the Lagerquist Gallery is Atlanta's oldest
gallery dealing in original fine art.
Lagerquist Gallery represents regionally,
nationally, and internationally recognized artists
including Henry Barnes, Albert Handell, Karen
Jacobs, Geoffrey Johnson, Dodie Petro, Teena Stern
and others. The gallery's contemporary
collection of work includes a variety of styles and
techniques form abstract to representational as well
as transitional paintings and dimensional work.
"We are pleased to add Deborah's work to our
collection. These works will be appreciated by
our clients who prefer a more classical style of art
for their enjoyment," Ms. Fay Lagerquist Bragg said.
Elmquist's classical style of oil painting
bridges the Flemish and Venetian Schools in that she
incorporates into her works both the hard edge
quality of the Flemish School and the softer, lost
edges and "air" of the Venetian School of oil
painting. Her works also incorporate the
technique of selective focus while at the same time
maintaining the fine detail traditionally found in
classical realism.
"I am known for my personal
style of still life painting and I have a
significant following in the
genera subject matter. Even though I have
worked towards fresher brush strokes and a looser
more spontaneous painterly look, I truly love
painting detail and the chiaroscuro style.
That is where my heart is and I
always seem to return to my roots and the painting
style of the Old Masters," she said.
Always looking for a new challenge, Deborah is currently working on
a new series of fine art pieces of "traditional
still-life", but in a much grander form,
incorporating unusual forms and shapes, fabrics and
textures, her subjects matter---as always---is
directly from real life and interpreted in the
classical style for which she is known.
The Lagerquist Gallery is located at 3235 Paces
Ferry Place, NW, Atlanta. (Editor's Note: check the
Galleries page for detailed gallery information.)

nice addition to our gallery and will be appreciated
by our clients who prefer a classical style
of art for their homes," Mr. Backer said.

her
classical style. Deborah is looking forward to a

of still life fine art pieces that should be ready
for the fall and winter gallery season. Ms Elmquist
is a full time professional artist working from her

Updates Use of Facebook, Twitter
Follow dbElmquist-Artist on
Facebook and Twitter. "We are still on Facebook
and Twitter and trying to be a presence on the social media
while still keeping our website and our new blog fed with
current and valuable information for the art buyer and our
clients in particular. In addition to news and
information, we intend to create an area for comments and discussion
about classical realism, oil painting in general, and
featured new works for sale as they are completed," said
Deborah Elmquist, Classical Realist, oil-painter. "Our
idea is to make the website the hub of our effort to
communicate with our followers providing
information and articles of interest to all collectors of
Classical Realism and fine art, complimented by our blog as
a teaching tool, and our Facebook pages as an announcement
tool, with Twitter with its short
note strength to let my followers know what is available
and where to find it."
"We think that our gallery representatives
will find our efforts in these areas helpful to create
future sales," said Deborah Elmquist. "We
will do whatever we can to direct our buyers to one of our
galleries so that they can find just the right painting, one
that they will just love and add to their collection,"
Deborah said.
"That is what I am all about; creating fine art in my
personal style and helping those who love what I do find
what they want. We have really great galleries showing
my work,
but making a transition through the current economy is
difficult even for the best of us. I have a responsibility to support my
gallery representatives as well as my local art
community."
Deborah's art is appreciated by art lovers
in England, Germany, and Israel internationally and here at
home as well. Her work is on display in the Volusia
County Florida, Arts in Public Places, at the New Smyrna
Beach Public Library, and the Daytona Beach Museum of Arts
and Sciences. Working as a full time professional
artist since 1998, Deborah has works of art held by
individuals and private collectors across the United State,
Europe, and the Middle East.
